In this page I have tried to show briefly some of the mysteries of ancient times that appear in The Empire of the Islands, and to expose the explanation proposed to solve them. But there are many more all over the world... not only in Egypt. If you have curiosity, you can broaden your knowledge with the numerous specialised books, radio or television programs, and web pages found in Internet about this subject (below the reader will see that in many subjects, the are many more than a hundred thousand).
The original ideas have of course the name of the person that has had the courage to expose it. Not the rest, because they were exposed by so many people that it would be impossible to do it, because it's very old or because I consider that many people, including myself, can have thought about it.

The reader will have surely deduced that we are going to go deep into one of the mysteries not only of Egypt, but of all the History. The figure that is in the title of this link is the number of blocks that formed the Great Pyramid, in my opinion wrongly called of Cheops.
The two hundred and thirty meters of each one of its sides form a surface of fifty three thousand square meters, and that is the first of the problems we have to face. To have an idea of what that means, it's enough to say that it's bigger than the one seven football fields together would form. This is only the first of the enigmas about this construction, because the drop of the base is counted in millimetres... And according to the official theories they only used ropes, weights and some other rudimentary level. Something tells me that with such instruments it would be completely impossible to do it, because the expansion of the supposed ropes would make impossible such accuracy. To make it even more complex, we must remark that in the centre of the terrain where the Great Pyramid is settled, there is a rocky formation that doesn’t allow the direct vision of the other extremes. I guess that even nowadays doing something like that would give some or other problem to the topographers even if those used theodolites or other measuring instruments.
The question of how the managed a so perfect base is not at all solved in spite of what historians tell. Something that doesn’t occur either with the method used to build it. Officially, it was built during the kingdom of Cheops, approximately two thousand and seven hundred years before Christ, and the works went on twenty three years. This figure seems to me, as well as to many others, completely absurd. If we make a simple calculation we will see that the result assures they had to put a block every few minutes. And the transport, the polishing, hoisting and settling...? The theory about ramps that has been proposed as the method to transport the blocks to the different rows is wrong in my opinion, therefore I go on wandering the previous question convinced that it couldn't be done at all as historiography states. A new enigma appears with the perfection of the calcareous recovering that covered it, and that unfortunately we only could admire in the first row, The explanation given by the master in the House of the Manufacture about the manufacturing of the blocks it's only an invention based on the ideas of Davidovits about the softening of the stones, and, by the way, there are proofs of it that apparently confirm its veracity. However, we can’t omit that apart from the arduous work of sculpting the blocks and their transport to their corresponding place, we have the form of the blocks, because the cubes were not perfect, one of their sides should be lowered according to the angle formed by the faces of the pyramid until they reached the summit of a hundred and forty seven meters. The surface of these blocks is around three square meters, and the contact between all of them was so perfect that even the blade of a knife couldn't be introduced between them. If the reader thought that Silvana's words were a fantasy, now you can see that's not true. Besides, if you thought that the surprises about this recovering had finished you're wrong. To make it even more complex, it seems there’s no trace of the machines that were supposedly used to hoist then, and that they were united with plaster. That means that they couldn’t make a mistake and settle it again correctly. One last thing. The surface of these blocks that recovered the Great Pyramid was so perfect that nowadays it would accomplish all the requirements we demand to our crystal tables to consider them worthy of adorning our living rooms. If anybody can explain me how they did something like that with lead chisels I would be glad to hear that theory.
Regarding its perfect orientation north-south, the investigators doesn’t agree. For orthodox historians, it doesn’t have any mystery. They simply observed the sky with the help of canes or similar instruments until they managed to locate with amazing accuracy these coordinates. However, the so-called heterodoxies thought that something like that is impossible with such methods, and that measuring of angles which are less than a second of arc is impossible physically because it exceeds human capacity to do it. Something that is apparently proved clinically, but that, even so, doesn’t change the classic vision of the subject. And a final question that is not minor: how many centuries of methodical observation would be needed to discover something like that? According to the scholars several millennia, but official history says that at that age the Egyptians began to abandon prehistory. Then, how they did it? How is it possible that they shared astronomic knowledge of such accuracy with such distant people in time and space as Mayas and Aztecs? I have only one possible answer.
The numbers Pi and Phi used in the construction of the Great Pyramid are explained in The Empire of the Islands, therefore I'm not going to repeat it here. I only want to say that according to official history at that age they hardly had a few mathematical knowledge described as elemental, absolutely impossible to think that it could help them to find those numbers and let alone to use them to build such a big construction.
Finally, although I expect the most curious readers will go on investigating on their own, I must inexcusably mention the eight faces of this pyramid mentioned numerous times in the novel. In the equinoxes and solstices of spring and summer, one can see that the north and south faces are really formed by two, cut in an angle of twenty seven degrees of arc that let us know the equinoxes and solstices with absolute accuracy. The lack of calcareous recovery doesn't allow us to see it nowadays, although from above it's still visible. Therefore the original pyramid had to have eight faces, the "even more difficult" in something of such size and accuracy that was never tried again, something that only adds one more problem to the numerous problems exposed in this link.
If after what I have exposed here, the reader still thinks that it was effectively built by the ones historians state, congratulations. I'm still trying to find an explanation to something that at that moment for me is a mystery. I don’t assure anything and I don’t accept a hundred per cent any of the theories called “heterodoxies” Why the most ancient ones reached a greater perfection? Why they didn't want to build such big constructions any more afterwards? Perhaps the answer is the most obvious one. Because they knew it was impossible to do it.
It's up to reader to decide if they are remains of a previous culture, of the Egyptians themselves or of the visitors of Sirio. I choose the first one.
When Silvana visits the House of Life, the master instructs her about the chirurgical interventions practised by the surgeons of Bherot. Evidently, it’s a recreation, but my intention when imaging something like that, however, is another one. Just to expose the reader some of the proofs that speak about a highly developed medicine several millennia before our age.
Differently from other sections of this page, the treatment of the body doesn’t entail, from my point of view, extraordinary elements that lead our imagination to try to discover in them the intervention of civilisations other than the Egyptian. The doctors of that age were without any doubt accurate in their diagnostics and conscientious when putting into practise the recovery techniques, Infinite tools that prove their high level preparation to extirpate tumours, extract molars or open the chest or the stomach. They used as well, as all other cultures, infinite plants and mineral substances to prepare potions or pastes they use as medicine, The most extraordinary thing I see, as many others, are the interventions the practised in brains, called trepanations. Many people think it is something extraordinary that would demonstrate the connection of this town with other cultures of the planet that practise it too. For me, however, this prove is not such. Differently from other proofs or theories exposed in this page that in my opinion do demonstrate it, trepanations seem to me something any culture can have done on its own without any exterior influence. Don’t many people give special importance to the heart or the head as parts where soul inhabits, the ego of the individual? Don't they see in them the most important organs of our body? I repeat that I don’t consider this interventions or knowledge as proofs of something extraordinary, but as the rest of the ideas exposed in this page, the reader is to decide.
About the Heb-Sed to which the emperor Raltemar Manuk is submitted to recover the vitality he had lost, I must say it really existed... Although not as described in the novel. Since the most ancient dynasties, dated three thousand years before Christ, this ceremony in which the pharaoh overcame all type of tests to demonstrate that he was still in conditions to continue governing Egypt and that gods blessed him from the firmament, is recognised. We have found some hieroglyphics that explain how some parts of this basically magical ceremony were like, but the lack of texts that describe it really with details is the reason why it is still an enigma.
The court were this ceremony was celebrated has been discovered beside the staggered pyramid of Sakkara, and the rooms of each one of the kings of Ahâ-Men-Ptah that appear in the novel are just a mere literary recreation of the chapels reconstructed by the French archaeologist Lauer. The race of the emperor around the three boundary stones was really celebrated, although scholars don’t agree about its sense. For some people they represented the three frontiers of Egypt, for others, the primitive chaos of the creation... The second one of the Youth Tests, they were called like that, was inspired in a representation where we can see a bull beside a post and some ropes. The idea of what was what was expected from the pharaoh seems obvious for me, although it has been recreated to achieve a greater emotion. The lasts of the tests is just an invention, although taking into account governor’s virility was very important for ancient people, I decided to include it.
Regarding the tour through the inside of the pyramids, his dreams induced by members of the Triad and the surprising results his mind and body suffer, the reader will decide if something like that is possible. This is based on the experiments made with pyramids of Cheops to scale, and that seem to demonstrate that that form alters somehow the objects inside it. The tests made with plants, chemical solutions and “razor blades” do corroborate it. The tests with colloids of Giorgio Picardi proved that if those were situated under a pyramid they continued in suspension five more times, and in Argentina they made experiments with several enzymes and found that their performance augmented spectacularly. The pyramidal form with fifty degrees and fifty minutes inclination seems to have amazing properties, but it’s up to the reader to decide if the Egyptians knew it or it was just a coincidence. In my opinion, taking into account that I consider these figures much more previous to the cultures of the Nile, we would have to search the answer in the surprising knowledge of these survivors spread all around the world after the disaster. I think that the word coincidence doesn't exist in History.
Fashion or not, true or false, the truth is that there are companies that sell pyramids of certain sizes and materials so that anyone that wants it could even sleep inside it. You can found their addresses in internet, just in case any reader wants to have a look at them.
However, although it could be true, and I think it is, the results on emperor Raltermar Manuk’s mind are completely an invention. In the numerous documents available about the power of the pyramids, there are articles, videos, several books, there’s no mention to the certainty that this is possible. They vaguely refer to the people that after staying some time under them felt “anaemically better”. The reader will surely be thinking something like that can also be felt looking to the blue see, a valley hidden among mountains, a sculpture by Michelangelo or the eyes of the beloved person. And I agree.
Therefore, regarding the second part of the title it’s not much what I can say. The mental powers Shadows and psychics have in The Empire of the Islands are just an invention, although some experiments indicate that our brain is able to develop amazing skills that the science can’t explain for the time being. I was always surprised by the statement that we only use a ten per cent of the capacities of our brain… Because the ones that affirm this thesis seem to be referring only to the intellectual capacities. This may be true, but, isn't it possible that they are referring to other type of ability? There are many experiments about telekinesis, or about moving objects with the only help of the mind. Some were made in irreproachable scientific conditions, but that way doesn’t seem to have given new fruits. Other experiments state that the mind is able not only to move objects but that it can also influence on people's mood, and even on weather, something that in my opinion hasn’t been conveniently demonstrated. Perhaps it's me who is wrong, or perhaps we don't have adequate masters to arouse that part of our mind that remains asleep.
In Ahâ-Men-Path none of the psychics has this power, although however they do use telepathy. It’s really the basis of their existence together with the capacity to influence on other people’s mind. Scholars such as Julian Jaynes state that thousand of years ago, when our brain wasn’t guided by numbers and precise concepts to define things, we used more the right part of the brain, the one used to perceive drawings, images, etc. However, numbers, letters, etc, are perceived by the left part. Perhaps the way to understand the world around us has changed our mental habitudes so much that now some psychic faculties used by our ancestors have disappeared. It’s just a possibility. The experiments about telepathy are numerous, and probably many secret services continue experimenting. Anyway, the connections between people very close emotionally are more interesting for me, and the fact that twins or people connected mentally felt the same thing thousand of kilometres apart is in my opinion the best proof that something subtle and undetectable for the time being, join minds to this extent.
The feeling that invade us while we walk or we are working that something serious has happened to a loved one it’s something that has always intrigued me. The researches about this subject leave no doubt, and surely all of us know someone to which something like that has occurred. Maybe the reader himself is one of them and from time to time he revives the anguish felt after knowing something serious had happened… When still wondering disconcerted if the brain is able to do something more than adding two and two.
The sculpture that in my opinion is the most ancient in the Earth is beside the pyramids of Giza. The reader will think that I'm going too quick, that perhaps it’s one of the biggest ones made in ancient times, but that there are others not so big from dynasties previous to the dynasty of Chefren that invalid my hypothesis. However, the proofs which say that it's as I say, that it wasn't made when historians tell us, are solid enough to insist on it. Let’s study them deeply and the reader will decide which is the most convincing one.
History tells us that this figure sculpted during the kingdom of the pharaoh Chefren, approximately two thousand and five hundred years before Christ. Part of his name is found in the trace found between its paws, where we can see the description of the dream of Tutmosis IV occurred one millennium afterwards: The sphinx would give him the throne of Egypt if he dug it up from the sand. That, which curiously shows the lack of care it received, and some sculptures of Chefren with form of sphinx found very close to it, are the proofs that historians consider irrefutable to assign him its authorship. Until not many years ago this was the official theory accepted by everybody, but John Anthony West made it jump into pieces when in 1991 he published his investigations. Studying the erosion marks in the sphinx, he concluded that those hadn't been produced by the sand of the desert as was believed until then, but by water. The geological and physical studies he undertook with Dobecky and Schoch proved that water had covered that area of Egypt at the end of the last glaciation approximately twelve thousand years ago, and that evidently, the figure had to be already there. The famous Flood that left its trace on numerous sculptures all around the world appeared again, and if that was not enough, some historians state that in some of the pyramids one could see the mark left by the waters that inundated that part of the world during several centuries. There are other clues that reinforce even more the hypothesis proposed by the ones that believe that neither the pyramids of Giza nor the sphinxes were built by the ones historians tell us. The proofs that for example Cheops didn’t build the pyramid attributed to him are numerous, as well as the texts that mention that he received ambassadors from other kingdoms in his basis, and some others that implicitly say that it was already built when he got the power. On the contrary, the ones that historians use are also scarce: Herodoto's quotations appeared many centuries after the theoretical construction, and the name of the pharaoh Cheops discovered in the discharge chambers of the King’s Chamber seems completely a fraud (written in hieratic characters instead of the hieroglyphics as the ones used at that time).
But let’s go on with the sphinx. West himself sponsored and anatomic study to check if the face of the figure was or not Chefren’s face, since we have models we can compare it to. The results demonstrated clearly that it was not so, therefore we must wait new research to discover if the pharaoh appropriated it.
That, and the contributions of Bauval and Hancock in his book Keeper of the Genesis, didn’t do but to reinforce the hypothesis that this figure is much more previous to the time in which it was supposedly built. The first is something any Art student surely had already thought about. I’m referring to the evident disproportion between the head of the sphinx and the rest of the body. Although some historians adduce that the correct proportion measures were not yet established, something we can admit up to a point, the disequilibrium in the figure is so evident that it seems to me to contempt up to the ridicule the mastery of its builders. Besides, there are numerous sphinxes of several pharaohs that do have the right proportions. Seeing that, can anyone think that such an error could be produced by the Egyptian artisans? The same ones that sculpted the unequalled statue of Chefren himself in diorite? I sincerely can’t, although to be honest it might well have occurred that successive pharaohs sculpted their face upon the previous one and so the head was smaller and smaller until it became what we can see now. The second contribution is related to the discoveries of West: the head is the only part of the sphinx that doesn't present erosion marks produced by water, and that seems to prove that they were made in different ages. Perhaps, as these investigators state, the figure was made before the end of the last Glacial Age, and the original head were modified by successive pharaohs to its personal benefit. Besides, Bauval, in his book The Orion mystery, when identifying the pyramids of Giza with the three stars that constitute the Belt of Orion and when considering that the Nile represents the Milky Way, concludes that the moment when the sky was perfectly reflected on Earth was not two thousand and five hundred years before Christ as historians say… But eight thousand years before. Scandalous figures difficult to accept, but that cannot be overlooked.
The story which Letonio tells Silvana when she arrives to Bherot is an invention, but the truth is that the legends about the origin of Egypt mention that thousands of years before the ones who escaped from the destruction of Ahâ-Men-Ptah arrived to those lands and formed the civilisation in the Nile. That a disaster of incalculable magnitude destroyed the Earth inundating it completely during tens of years if not centuries, something that made it tremble and even made it change its equator, something that darkened the sky turning the day into an endless penumbra... Something that devastated the planet with such a rage that only a few people escaped from.
Perhaps the ones that survived to the disaster chose Egypt because it was the most similar place to the one they just had lost. Considering that part of the history is truth, it's something that seems quite obvious. If the followers of Horus arrived to the occidental coasts of Africa, why would they travel thousands of kilometres to the valley of the Nile if there were surely suitable places to settle and form again they desired empire nearer than the Nile? Why in spite of the panic they might feel to places beside the sea they chose one with such a low altitude? Taking into account everything explained here I hope to have attracted the curiosity of the reader and to have excited his curiosity so as to investigate until discovering a convincing one if he hasn't found one.
In my opinion I think this is the reason why they refounded their empire in Egypt. That these constructions were already there and that they knew them... And that that's why they call it Second Heart of Ptah.
Remarking here how Silvana was surprised when she discovered in Bherot sculptures with enormous details, can disconcert more than one reader, that will wonder what is the mystery of making something like that and the reader will attribute it merely to the skill of those craftsmen. If I were referring to works made in relatively soft stones such as limestone I would agree with that scepticism... In the end, not everything is going to be a mystery in Egypt. But if we observe some of these sculptures, the most representative among them being the one of the pharaoh Chefren, we will see that the perfection that surprised the princess is due to the type of rock it was made in. It's diorite, a material which is only a point under the diamond in the scale of Mohs. And according to the historical theories, those granite, shale or diorite sculptures, were made using as the only tool cooper chisels, a detail that will surely attract the curiosity of the most sceptic and will encourage them to go on reading.
Conventional historiography stays unmovable the same as in the other subjects related to Egypt. It states that those sculptures were made with cooper chisels, although I imagine that they will leave the door open to the possibility that they managed to endure it in some unknown way until they gave it the consistence of iron, material not known when those works were done. The experiments made to demonstrate the previous statement have been a disaster, and although they hardly managed to devastate the rock, in the following task of chiselling and polishing the results were so different from the sample that it was no worth trying to compare them. In spite of all, it’s absolutely truth that many hieroglyphics represent the craftsmen sculpting these figures with chisels, but if they are made of cooper or not this is something different. We must not forget that the details in these sculptures of diorite and other stones with similar hardness are so meticulous that it's completely impossible to make them with a cooper tip. If any reader manages to do it, I will be the first one to congratulate him and apologise in this same webpage.
Now that we have seen the official theory, we will revise those other theories that try to explain how they did it and thus choose the most credible for us.
The first of them has to do with what was exposed in the link About pyramids, obelisks and walls. I am referring to the softening of the stone exposed by Davidovits according to which thanks to a secret formula it was possible to liquate the rock until turning it into something similar to a paste that could be easily transported and then solidify again in the desired place. The fact the he didn't reach this last step doesn't invalid his experiments. They possibly would soften the chosen stone, supposedly the hardest ones since with the others they wouldn’t have any problem, to mould it before it hardened again. Perhaps they didn’t liquate it completely, but only the most superficial layer, that in which they were working at that moment searching the polishing that amazes us and the details such as eyes, mouth, clothes... It's just a supposition.
The other theory that tries to explain how they did it seems more rational… But only apparently. If according to the pictures of some graves they used chisels to sculpt those rocks and it seems evident that they couldn't be made of cooper... Let's search this material. Easy? Not at all. Despite some legends speak about materials harder than 10, we must remember that this is the highest one in the scale of Mohs and correspond to the diamond, such a wonder hasn’t been found. It seems that it doesn't exist in our planet. And outside?, the reader will wonder. I don't dare to answer, and although until now nothing similar has been found, the universe is too big to reject roundly that possibility. Let’s leave that theory till the end and let’s go on with this unknown material ancient Egyptians could use. The myths mention a material, the shamir, used by Salomón in the construction of his temple. It’s said that it could cut any material no matter how hard it was, diamonds included. It's the shamirespo, the one mentioned in The Empire of the Islands. At the present time no trace of that extraordinary material has been found, and regarding the theory that maybe it had been brought by space travellers… I let the reader himself to decide.
Regarding the objects with a narrow mouth manufactured in such hard stones as diorite and shale, the problems and the solutions are very similar to what was exposed previously. The difficulty is the type of device they used to do it. The drawings we have show a craftsman handling a kind of rudimentary lathe twisting upon the mouth of the vessel to empty its interior. When Emery tried to reproduce this device to check its operability he found two problems. Firstly the bit, that theoretically was made of cooper, was absolutely unable to produce similar objects with the same quality as the ancient ones. And second. If that occurred in the vessels with wide mouth that in spite of all the difficulties, he could make, in the ones whose mouth and neck were very narrow and then opened in a belly, it was completely impossible to introduce the bit in them. And we must not forget that if they had managed it, they would have to modify its diameter to empty its interior. It seems that trying to do it following the traditional method remained in stand-by.
The other two theories to explain how the did it are: the softening of the stones of Davidovits, the one that assumes that they manufactured those vessels in two halves, both, by the way without any proof that can demonstrate them, and the theory of José Álvarez López. The latter believes that they might handle lathes moved by electricity, whose tips had, once seen the progress they managed in each lap upon the most endurable stones, a hardness superior to the diamond. The attentive reader will have realised that what Álvarez López proposes is something very similar to the drill Silvana uses to manufacture her vessel, but if the reader thinks I agree with it a hundred per cent this is not right. I am as disconcerted as I imagine most of the people who enter that type of enigmas are, and as all of them, I try to search what I consider most possible. Something that, by the way, is very difficult.
The way in which the ancient inhabitants of Egypt managed to build these constructions has been since many years ago one of the preferred subjects of the researchers that don't have enough with the official version that their blocks were transported from the quarries on ships and then transported to their definitive place by means of wooden sleighs, cranes or any other system not discovered yet. The enormous amount of stone needed to build pyramids greater than Giza and the absurdly short time in which, theoretically, they were built, makes us think that perhaps they didn’t use those methods historiography wants to make us believe… Or even that perhaps they weren’t built when the books state.
Most of the blocks that form the pyramid of Cheops weight around two tons, a weight relatively modest and, effectively, susceptible of being transported by a team of workers. The quantity of such blocks and the distance to the floor they should overcome are other problems, although due to their weight they could perfectly do it with some of the types of crane specialists have designed and put into practise. However, when we observe how inside them enormous hundreds of tons blocks lay perfectly piled ones against the others, the question is more complex. The stones that flank the Great Gallery or the ones that cover the King Chamber are not as easily transported as the ones I mentioned before. How did the do it then? The traditional explanation is still insisting on the familiar sleigh system and hundreds of sweaty soldiers that pulled them along ramps, pulleys or any other system. Has anyone seriously thought what would mean to pull a stone that weighs the same as the biggest of our planes along some wooden rollers? How would they move them to put them in the exact place so close to the rest of the blocks that there is no way to put between them a sheet of paper?
Before these questions I am as disconcerted as surely is the reader. Some will think that historians are right, that they managed to do it somehow. Others, however, will not be as much convinced, and will search any explanation that softens the disconcert such exploit provokes them. I wish I would be able to give them what they are looking for, but I can't offer them any definitive explanation. Only give them some clues of what I suspect, of some knowledge now lost able to make possible that men could move such enormous blocks.
When Silvana visits the House of the Manufacture, she listens to the master explaining how the ancients turned the stone into a kind of purée. The lathe system where this paste solidified again before being put in its place is a licence without any basis as the story itself that something like that is possible. However, it’s not a non-purpose licence. The proofs that the blocks that form the pyramid of Cheops were once liquated before solidifying again are so numerous that I can’t help admitting this could be possible. Microscopic investigations with X-Rays have demonstrated that inside many of these blocks there are hairs, remains of cloths, air bags,... This discovery was done by Davidovits and Morris. There are also blocks in which the amount of water is different in the top and the bottom parts, something that, as the reader will understand, it's not possible in rocks that are thousands of years old proceeding from a natural quarry. And if that’s not enough we see how in some constructions there are what clearly seems additions, as if the fractures produced in some blocks would have been filled with a corrector paste identical to the one it recovers.
If the previous proofs haven’t convinced the sceptic reader here there are some more. The obelisk of Assuán admired every year by millions of tourists stays on earth as another enigma of the ones with which this civilisation attracts us. In its surface and in the stone that surrounds it, which it evidently belongs to, one can clearly see the traces left by a kind of spade… Exactly the same we would see if the rock were made of butter. As if when it began to take shape something had managed to soften its surface. The reason why it wasn’t concluded and the way in which they wanted to transport it to the place where it should be eventually built are two new mysteries no one has been able to explain. Almost one thousand tons of stone that nowadays would be tremendously difficult to move and that apparently it was done with absolute normality millennia ago.
The explanation that they knew the way to soften the stone strengthens with a new discovery by Davidovits. When translating Trace of Hunger, situated a few kilometres away from Assuán, he believed having seen in it the chemical formula to obtain a liquid able to turn stone into something similar to a paste. Indeed it seems he managed to do it in his experiments, although he wasn’t able to make it solidify again. However, in spite of the “relative failure", in my opinion this is a proof that there is certainly the possibility to do it.
Something similar happened to the priest Jorge Lira, who worked with a mixture of plants able to have the same effect. That would explain how the fortress of Sacsayhuamán, situated at more than three hundred meters of height, was built, or how the gigantic menhirs built in other parts of Peru were transported. Some of them, as Silvana remarks in the novel, have the strangest forms, and however, they perfectly fit with the others around them. How could they make such a work just with their arms and stone hammers? How could they take them there and join them with such precision? The most plausible explanation, at least from my point of view, is that they managed somehow to turn the rock into a kind of purée easy to be transported till its destination and to be put it in the desired form before it solidified again. The readers will decide which one they like most. The other alternatives are the intervention of aliens, that managed to make them levitate from the quarries or that it was a work of giants… Although the Romans too built imposing constructions with slaves and splendid engineers. Difficult election, isn’t it?
Finally I would like to comment something that seems to me extremely interesting. Despite those constructions devoted to gods or to the pharaoh were very important for the Egyptians, there is practically no representation of how they transported those blocks. No picture or hieroglyphic let us see the rows of workers or the form of the ramps. As the master in the House of Manufacture says, only the transport of a sixty tons block deserved to be preserved for posterity because it was an extraordinary exploit. Why not do it then when they moved five hundred tons blocks? Queen Hatshepsut already said that the future generations would be surprised by the technique used to construct and raise the great obelisks. In my opinion she was right.
In the novel Ahâ-Men-Path electricity is constantly mentioned, great coils that supply electricity to the cities, smaller devices that move the propellers of ships and aircrafts, and the batteries that store that electricity and that can be moved from one place to another to be used in the decoration of graves or to visit dark caverns and thus enjoy the wonders they hide.
Any historian would jump from his seat to argue strongly against such statement, but some discoveries make us thought that thousands of years ago they knew how to produce electricity. Other links of this page are about aluminium and the inexcusable necessity to use this form of energy to produce it, also about its use in the gilding of parts through electrolysis, and about how it helped to separate in water molecules the oxygen from the hydrogen. This latter element is the one they would use in The Empire of the Islands to elevate their aircraft but, as the reader can understand, it’s just a supposition fruit of my research trying to find a type of gas that could be used for that purposes and susceptible of being obtained using electricity.
But let’s go on with the proofs I mentioned above. We must begin telling that in spite of the ingenious mirror system the Egyptians used to illuminate the deepest parts of the temples and galleries, there are some places as graves or basements where their complexity does not permit the use of this system to illuminate the craftsmen that built or decorated them. And the best of all: remnants of the use or torches, oil lams or any other type of illumination haven’t been found. The reader will think, as obligation, that they possibly used some device whose remnants didn’t dirty the ceiling of the walls that archaeologists haven’t still discovered… Because it’s obvious they had to use one. I have done it too, and taking into account the things we still ignore about this civilisation I see it as something completely possible, with such an ingenious system that will make me laugh at my own stupidity when it comes to light.
However, until then we must take what we have in front of us, and that, precisely, is what seems the representation of bulbs in the basements of the temple of Dendera. Yes, dear reader, the same where the famous zodiac was found. They were discovered in 1982 by Peter Krassa and Reinhald Habeck. There is a lotus flower, that by the way is the same place where the first light was formed, with an ellipse coming out of it with a snake moving inside it. At the other extreme, the ellipse, which seems transparent, leans on a special pillar formed by two inserted pieces of two different sizes disconcertingly similar to the ceramic or porcelain devices we can see in any of the electrical stations around our cities. Maybe there is another explanation for such representation, but if someone tried to build an “authentic bulb” following those engravings and eventually had success, things would change. And that occurred when Walter Garn managed to do it. Before something like that doubts seem to disappear evidencing that at least some initiated preserved certain knowledge inherited from a much more ancient time, than the one in which the man dominated this type of energy and besides other technological knowledge they watched over. And I have the impression this has been happening during the last thousands of years.
I hope to have aroused the curiosity of the reader about this matter, and that with my explanations, forgives me the license I took with the enormous coils of the basements where Silvana enters. Anyway, the proofs have not finished yet, and the batteries the master mentions in the House of the Manufacture could exist if we go by the following discoveries I mention.
In 1938 Wilhelm Köning discovered near Bagdad a vessel that had inside it a copper bar held to the cap that closed it. Inside it, there was an iron stick that protruded from the edge of the vessel. Intuiting its truth nature, Köning filled it with an electrolytic liquid and managed to make it work. Curious isn’t it? If theoretically the electric battery wasn’t discovered until Volta did it in 1845, why was this receptacle able to work as such? However, this discovery doesn't seem to be the only one, and other similar discoveries had been found in the same area.
References about objects that produce a light unusually lasting have arrived to our hands from the most remote antiquity, the classic age, Middle Age, Renaissance or Modern Age… Some of them even mention the existence of a kind of robots, humans, and animals, that taking into account what they were able to do, today we will call robots without any doubt. I guess that the reader will not be surprised when knowing that in all cases they were considered “something out of that time”, as if the ones that used it accepted they came from a remote age in which they usually used them. A mere game of the men that lived before the Flood in the best case or a present of the gods in the worst… The latter was the excuse most often used when no one knew the origin of one of these wonderful objects they were not able to explain.
Although the most curious fact is the instructions to build batteries found in some Hindu texts. Again in India…
In The Empire of the Islands we can find references to “the sword of Tarcis whose edges never oxidised”. What is important about these words is not the name, invented as many others, but, as the reader will have deduced, that it speaks about a steel that never oxidised. I imagine that the reader will be thinking in two possibilities: aluminium and stainless steel. I will speak about them below, because, no matter how strange it seems both materials were known in ancient times although theoretically in those times they did not have the necessary technology to obtain them.
Mentioning a sword makes it impossible to think that it was aluminium, I guess too fragile to fight against similar iron or bronze arms. It’s a mere licence, but although it is true that nobody would fight with an aluminium sword in his hand, it's possible that with this metal they made other objects that didn’t need to demonstrate its hardness, but quite the opposite. Plates, vessels, buckles... Any object made before with heavy materials and therefore less manageable, could then be made with such a slight material and at the same time so endurable that caused admiration on whoever saw them.
The evidences are there, in the graves of certain important people. That indicates that it was not a commonly used material, but that it was reserved to the most powerful people. However the mystery is still there. The extraction of this metal was not obtained until 1827, when Friedrich Wöler obtained it from the bauxite through electrolysis and with temperatures superior to a thousand degrees. The attentive reader will have realised what that statement means. It's practically impossible, but perhaps thousands of years ago they had ovens able to reach that temperature. Maybe some historians accept reluctantly that fact. But what they would never admit is that they could use the electricity needed to complete the process… Something that for them is "completely impossible". This subject is treated in another link, so we will continue with the proofs found by the archaeologists about the existence of aluminium in ancient times.
Let's admit that someway or another they did it. And I say that because in several Peruvian graves there were objects whose aluminium percentage is so high, more than eighty per cent, that we can say without fear that it was this material. The same happened in some Chinese graves, and that leads us to two conclusions that perhaps are really two questions: If in ancient times they had aluminium from the bauxite necessarily they had to use electricity, because the electrolytic method is for the time being now is the only one we know to do it. And the second. if the ancient cultures of the planet, in this case some American cultures, knew the fundaments to obtain aluminium, someone had to teach them this process. Although the first colonists of the continent were Scandinavian, Chinese or Japanese from the Pacific, or Colon in 1492, how did they know how to obtain aluminium when theoretically it was not discovered until the twentieth century? Difficult question to which I have only one answer. That maybe in some regions the knowledge needed to do such exploit was kept secret among some groups of initiated. Knowledge inherited from a culture technologically advanced that inhabited the Earth many thousands of years ago and whose remains have stated diffusely through time until they have become myths or legends. Incomprehensible puzzle pieces that from time to time appear and that we are not able to settle correctly. I’m not referring to visitants from other planets, but to the remains of a civilisation created by our ancestors, to beings like us disappeared in a cataclysm. A cataclysm I would like to know if it was provoked by the wars narrated in the Hindu mythology or caused by a natural disaster. Anyway, each one will decide which theory they liked more, including the one about beings from the outer space if you believe that the proofs are irrefutable.
Finally, I would like to mention the stainless objects we have in our planet defying once more what History wants to tell us. One of them, mentioned by Eric von Däniken in his book The gold of the gods, can be found in Kottenforst, and the investigations prove that it extends thirty meters under ground. This pillar is known as the Iron Men. However, the most spectacular ones can be found in India. Coincidence? Sincerely I don’t believe it. Its iron percentage is disconcerting for the antiquity of fifteen centuries attributed to them, although it seems that they are much older, it's more than ninety per cent. Something they were not prepared for technologically speaking. The explanations of its immutability go from a special foundry way nowadays metallurgists haven’t discovered, to the action of the fat with which the congregation impregnate them when they ask for their protection. One is just a mere column and the other a pillar, both situated in temples. The texts in Sanskrit that adorn them seem to refer to the way they obtained them, what they were used for and to their relation with an unknown energy, but they are so diffuse that it's impossible to reach any conclusion. The pillar is at the edge of the mountain Kudasaadri, in the temple devoted to the Mother Goddess, and some people think that it protects the congregation with the energy it attracts before making it flew inside the planet.
This is one of the theories which tries to explain its function, but there are many more. You can study in depth the subject and try to make your own one. Taking into account the influence that tantric sex has had on this part of the world and although the ancients conceded the celestial energy a female category, the following question comes to my mind: If the Earth needs to be fecundated to give its fruits, is there a better way to do it than leaving the cosmic energies in its womb? From my point of view it would be the best way to join both parts of the universe, the Earth that gives us life and the Sky where the gods we venerate live.
The place where the founders of the Egyptian civilisation lived was called Ahâ-Men-Path, which means First Heart of Path. It’s the Amenta of the Greeks, the place that Plato made the mythic Atlantis. The texts tell about an encounter between the ones that wished to follow the rules dictated by the gods and the ones that desired to make their own empire, a place where injustice and despotism reigned. Set, that wanted the independence of Ahâ-Men-Path, killed his brother Osiris. When the corpse of the latter went away in the boat where Isis and Horus had put them, Ra directed all the anger upon that country when his son could not help insulting the damage of the divinity for allowing such a cruelty with whom most venerated them
This is the moment in which the destruction of that island began. Volcanoes, earthquakes, fire, stones fallen from heaven… All the catastrophes one could imagine fell upon Ahâ-Men-Path and sank it deep in the ocean… Something that many other cultures of the planet have transmitted us in his legends too. The ones that managed to escape from destruction went to the lands around them. Some ones went to the west, towards America, and others went in the other direction to the costs of Europe and Africa. The ones that reach their aim suffered many misfortunes before, and the representation of this escape is clearly seen in some Egyptian graves where we can see how they reached salvation upon non-submersible manjiid boats. We can see them with bandages on their heads, alluding to the difficulties they found before arriving to a safe place far from destruction and chaos.
The ones that arrived to the African coasts began a long voyage that would lead them to their new destiny, the place where they had decided to found their own empire. A place that maybe existed like that already before the disaster, a place they new and considered the most similar place to the one they had left before. They would call it Ath-Ka-Path, Second Heart of Path, a place the Greeks would legate us as Egypt. Evidently, and in spite of the disaster, they carried with them such scientific knowledge that turned that place into the most important religious and cultural focus of their age. Something that from my point of view historians are unable to explain convincingly, because according to them the Egyptian culture appeared in a very short space of time with all their knowledge and myths perfectl developed, as if the step from the Age of Stone to build pyramids and establish a society with such a complex social structure, had appeared magically.
However they tried not to forget the disaster and made the future generations remember it too. Therefore, together with the stories of some texts such as the Book of the Dead people and the pictures mentioned where they reflect their escape, they wanted to give evidence of what had happened in a stone calendar, and made it in such a way that left no doubt about the magnitude of the disaster. Among the figures that filled the famous Zodiac of Dendera there is a lion in a boat beside which we can see five sinuous lines. Remember that in this zodiac the constellation of Leo points the equinox of spring, something that must have occurred nine thousand years before, that the sun was then in that constellation, and that the five broken lines mean such an amount of water that the only word that can define it is a flood. Lions and sphinxes… Coincidence?
The aircraft that appear in The Empire of the Islands can fly thanks to a gas cylinder, and their propellers that moved with the energy that the electro-magnets on their tails support them. It’s a mere author’s licence to distinguish these aircraft from the ones that according to numerous legends crossed our skies thousands of years ago, the ones that with their terrifying weapons "almost finished with Ahâ-Men-Path and with every sort of life on Earth". As the evidences of its use in remote times are numerous, I will treat the subject of electricity in another link.
As the reader will have deduced, I’m referring to the aircraft used in the wars the gods fought in India and its surroundings. In the epics Mahabharata and Ramayana we often hear about the famous vimanas, aircraft able to cross the sky at an incredible speed, with an enviable manoeuvrability and that had devastating arms.
If those fights between gods occurred thousands of years ago and the devastation they caused was as terrible as the description of what their arms could do shows, the most probable thing is that the ones who wrote those texts adorned them with constant poetical rhetoric. That is the case of the burning arrows that impacted on the enemy armies, artefacts that went back to god after having thrown fire or ice upon the enemy armies, the twisters that were thrown to dismantle an attack…
In the Vymaanika-Shaastra, by Maharshi Bharadwaaja, we found very detailed descriptions of how these aircraft were like, explaining their shape and propulsion means. Regarding the former, we can distinguish four types that go from the conventional form of a dirigible, authentic prototypes of modern planes, dumpy flying saucers or cones very similar to the stupas profusely decorated that adorn most Hindu temples. If in that text, that by the way is not the only one, we have a very detailed description of those aircraft, we should wonder why. If they come from the Middle Age, although many people believe they are translations of other older texts, why did they devote so much effort to tell us something that didn't exist, why so much accuracy to explain a sustaining system able to trick gravity, why such detailed descriptions of the motors of mercury vortexes... So similar to the symbol of the emblem that extremely disconcerts me. Formed by two snakes coiled around a stick upon which there is a sphere with two wings, it represents the alchemic mercury. Does it mean that this way of using mercury can make the machine using it fly?, that, as it happens in other cases, this symbol represents something that only the initiated are able to understand? Why do they speak so profusely about electro-magnets, mica and quartz crystals…? Evidently it doesn’t seem they are referring to something they have merely dreamed. It rather seems a description of a technology that covered the earth on remote times, and the experiments made last century trying to reproduce the same effect have had a “disconcerting success”. We cannot forget some of the circular prototypes that developed by the Third Reich. One of them produced an anti-gravitational field through a whirlpool associated with an electrical field. The famous vortex effect can also be obtained with magnets able to produce an enormous electrostatic field around it. The works in this direction of Marcel Pagés, Twounsend Brown and John Searl had hopeful results.
It’s curious too the use of mani or quartz crystals, apparently able to move unknown energies and that adequately used could generate that anti-gravity. The experiments of the doctor Marcel Vogel went in this direction.
The mantras, very specific sound combinations, are also treated in those texts, It seems that some experiments, such as the one of Ben Iverson in 1993, have managed to offset gravity somehow and to manifest certain energies. Perhaps that is the reason why the pilots of those vimanas have to vocalise them to shoot down the enemy aircraft.
Regarding the arms used in those enormous battles, I can only say that its power is terrifying. Used constantly during the battles by semi-gods as Arjona, Bhima, Krishna, etc, they were able to darken the sky, make the ground tremble, produce fireballs able to devastate a whole city or such an intense cold that they could destroy whole armies… Or they left them completely asleep. In my opinion it is curious that gods used arms set aside to drive people mad… It’s a strange form to be several millennia ahead of something that nowadays our armies are testing to disconcert our enemies with all type of hallucinogen substances.
About this type of aircraft in historical times it's enough to examine some documents or pictures to realise that they have been present since the most remote ancient times. Jews, Chinese and towns of the pre-columbine America mention flying carts… Everywhere and in all ages, even millennia before Christ, Middle Age, or Modern Age, we can find descriptions of those strange machines that we have found as legends or myths. As something that, evidently, no one was able to explain. Perhaps demoniac manifestations or hallucinations. Something that, however, remained reflected in those pictures or descriptions. I have my own theory for this and in it there is no place for beings coming from the stars... But each one can think as he or she wishes.
Despite its size can dissuade many people, I cannot help advising to read the Mahabharata. The greatest epic poem in India would not leave anybody indifferent, and its exquisite language will make its reading an authentic pleasure. Theoretically it’s a real encounter occurred between those rival castes, but... Who knows! Maybe the terrible battle occurred in the field of Kuruksetra is not what it seems. Maybe those events are indeed a reconstruction of something that happened long before the Flood that destroyed everything and from which many cultures have fatal memories.
As explained on the back page of Ahâ-Men-Ptah (Part one: The Empire of the Islands) it wants to be not only a recreation of the mythical Atlantis based on the descriptions made by Plato. It’s something more that some people will like and that will shock some others, because it reflects some of the enigmas which the most orthodox history does not admit, but that, according to my opinion, could be the answer to those ancient mysteries which haven't been explained convincingly.
The links will take the reader from the strange origin of the Egyptian civilisation, to the doubts about how pyramids were built, the possibility that thousands of years ago people used aircraft, or the true age of the Sphinx. If you enter these links with an open mind you will discover that perhaps what you learned about our past is not so simple and lineal as you thought. But these words should not mislead you. I don’t want to provoke ambitious polemics and nothing farthest from my intention than telling people what he or she must believe or not … In these notes there's nothing else than my own doubts.
At least I hope to arouse the readers’ curiosity. To make them judge some of the theories historians try to state as unquestionable not admitting the least critic. To make them read and investigate the subjects which are not clear. To make them distrust the odd theories of the ones that now speak about a disappeared civilisation and the next minute resort to outer-space beings. I just mean... It's up to them what to decide.

The first references to Atlantis are found in the books of the Greek philosopher Plato, Timeo and Critias. The fact that it hadn't been mentioned ever before, confirms for most people that it's just a myth, the most suitable framework for their theories about the different kinds of government.
In the Timeo he speaks about a land at the west of the Hercules’ Columns, the Strait of Gibraltar, larger than Libia and Asia together (what they meant for them at their age). Curiously, he says that at that age, nine thousand years before, the Atlantic Ocean could be crossed, that it was possible to go from this island to others which were farther and arrive to the continent on the other side. This is one more evidence of their great imagination when no one even suspected that at the other side of the ocean there were those lands, and they believed that the continent finished on unfathomable abysses through which one fell to the infinite that terrified the successive sailors until the end of the Middle Age. It also says that their kings governed that island and some more around it, and that its control extended from the interior of Libia to Egypt, and in Europe up to Tirrenia. The Timeo speaks as well about the war the Athenians had against some Atlantes which pushed by their greed wished to enslave those lands too.
Plato writes in Critias about the story he was told by Solon, and that Solon was told by an Egyptian priest when he travelled to the country of the Nile. In it, he expounded the origin of the Egyptian civilisation, which according to the initiated was dated ten thousand years before. That is the moment where he speaks about the Atlantis, a continent or an island that they called Ahâ-Men-Ptah and which they ancestors came from, mythical gods that went away of it when a group of catastrophes sank it forever in the ocean. This part of the story is treated more deeply in another link of this page.
But let’s follow with Plato. In the Timeo he explains the structure of the society, and he speaks about social classes: priests, warriors, craftsmen, shepherds, hunters, and peasants. The knowledge they acquired about firmament and medicine is admired. In Critias he speaks about how the island was like, the ringed form of its capital, the great plain up to the sacred mountains of Clito, the distribution of the islands between the descendants of Poseidon, the famous orichalcum, about palaces and temples, about the statue of Poseidon… The descriptions in The Empire of the Islands follow closely his words, although the ceremony inside the temple has been modified. He also tells us about “how they submitted to laws, they had true thoughts, and how they resorted to intelligence for the events that always occur and also between themselves". However, "when the divine part disappeared from them, human temper dominated them and they became arrogant and indecent". It’s then when Zeus gathered together all the gods to impose them a penalty which made them become more modest and prudent. This is the end of the dialogue.
Real or invention, the truth is that since ancient times men have tried to find the place where it settled. And the amount of theories appeared in the last century trying to find this civilisation, without which many mysteries of the Ancient times could not be explained, confirm the determination of many investigators to refuse the official theories. A highly advance culture that went all over the world leaving its thought, its myths, its wars, and even its own words in so distant places that speaking of a coincidence seems to me absurd.
Some of those theories say that the Atlantis was close to the Strait of Gibraltar, and they bet concretely for Tartesos as the origin of the myth. Following the same place pointed by Plato, others propose that some of the summits of Atlantic Ocean from Iceland and almost to the Antarctica are part of that mythical continent. Others say it was in the North of Europe, more concretely in the Scandinavian countries. For some people, that mysterious and developed civilisation is no other than Minos, Creta, whereas others chose Santorini arguing as a proof the huge volcanic explosion that reduced it half its size.
Lately, some of the investigators believe they have found it on Peru, the Brazilian jungle, next to Cuba and la Florida, at the southwest of the Britannic Islands… The places vary depending on the places where new remains no one knew about are found and to which most times there is no plausible explanation. We can find an example of the latter in the remains found under the sea in some parts of the Bimini. I'm not speaking about the formations discovered some decades ago, apparent walls, roads and even some pyramid, and from which, unfortunately, nothing has been heard anymore. The remains found near Cuba seem more encouraging. From them, some organic remains, with which it is possible to determine its age, could be extracted. They seem promising, and if an age near the one stated by Plato is confirmed, many of the actual theories about what happened in our planet then thousand years ago would be questioned… When theoretically we abandoned the caverns to found the first human settlings that could be called “villages” in Turkey or Jericho.
The last theory I want to mention, I don’t want it to omit it, says it was under the ices of the Antarctica. It belongs to Graham Hancock, and it is based on the maps of Piris Reis and of Oronteus Finaeus, where we can see part of this continent free of the ices and theoretically made in an era, century XVI, in which this knowledge was completely impossible. Evidently they are remains or copies of others much more ancient that must have remained in the hands of the initiated, and of an age where sailors or astronauts were able to make some maps with an amazing accuracy. It seems that the last opportunity to see the cost of the Antarctica was four thousand years before Christ. Therefore, Hancock states that in the age described by Plato that continent must have been free of ice and possibly inhabited. His theory was strengthen with the investigations made by the Canadians Rand and Rose Flem-Ath, that assured they were convinced that the Antarctica was situated thirteen thousand years ago in front of the Strait of Gibraltar, and that due to a sudden movement of the terrestrial plates it moved to its nowadays location. I’m not sure if in such few years, geologically speaking they are absolutely nothing, a continent of those characteristics can move several thousand kilometres. But I’m not an expert, and therefore I leave it to the reader’s criteria. However, saying that as the Antarctica appears in those maps it really was there, seems to me very risky. If we can also see other parts of the planet, why don’t we search in them?
